Invisalign has helped thousands of people overcome their orthodontic problems as well as cosmetic problems. Two Houston Cosmetic Dentists, Dr.'s C.E. Musslewhite and Dr. Scott P. Musslewhite, both native Houstonians have introduced the apparatus as far back as the late 1990's. After almost 10 years they have treated young and old alike allowing them to overcome health and self-esteem issues. Invisalign helps all age groups, not just teenagers anymore. It can be for anyone that has the need, no matter what the age. And not just for crowded teeth. More concern should be given to the diseases of the mouth and gums and not just crooked teeth.

You may have heard about Invisalign. Invisalign is the equivalent to wearing braces yet it is made of a clear plastic like trays that fit over the entire teeth. It's greatest benefit is that it is clear, and most people are not even aware the patient is wearing it. Many teens who need braces are being considered for the apparatus, however a good many adults both young and old alike have considered the benefits as well. While many teens don't mind metal braces, older adults refuse metal braces and seem to be embarrassed by the thought of wearing them late in life. Invisalign has changed all that and actually can be taken off when the patient eats or when they don't want to wear the tray for whatever reasons they have.

More specifically, here are some typical problems and treatments, and how long the treatment lasted.

Crowding

A 30 year old had been biting down on her lower teeth with her upper teeth yet she had just learned to live with this. Her doctors explained however, that the years had caused her to grind down her teeth, resulting in bone loss and possible gum disease. After 9 months wearing Invisalign she no longer had crowded teeth and poor grinding.

Spacing

When we age our teeth spread out more than usual. A 53 year old woman came to Dr. Scott Musslewhite in Houston, Tx and asked him if there was anything to be concerned about. He explained that while it may seem unattractive, it could also cause periodontal issues. The patient closed all gaps on her teeth within 10 months of wearing Invisalign.

Cross bite

A female college student found out from her dentist that her severe headaches were the result of cross bite and could also cause dental decay and gum disease in the future. She was a candidate and wore the Invisalign for 10 months with great results.

Overbite

A 40 year old male came in to see Dr. C.E. Musslewhite, the Father of the Musslewhite Dental Team, a Houston dentist for over 40 years. He and his son practice in the Town and Country area and do a major amount of cosmetic dentistry. The patient did not want to wear braces at his age but the doctors told him his overbite could cause health issues. He also needed to feel confident in his competitive industry and thought Invisalign could benefit him. Within 20 months, he no longer had the overbite.

While this is more common now days, many people are not aware that at any age Invisalign can help with self-esteem, but most importantly with health issues they may not be aware of!

Dr. Scott Musslewhite and Dr. C.E. Musslewhite are father and son dentists with a passion for their patient's. Their practice is in the Town and Country area of Houston, TX. You may call them at 713-827-8200 to make an appointment. They love their patients!
